Julia Chaisson

Leesville, La

AHEC of a Summer helped to shape the person I am now. It was such an incredible experience. I wish I could convince every single one of my peers to participate. I learned so much, not only about medicine, but also about professionalism, workforce settings, and leadership. I made lasting friendships and professional relationships that can never be replaced. AHEC has led to countless opportunities for me.

Kimberly LeBlanc

Mansura, La

My daughter did camp forward in middle school. This summer she did the AHEC summer program. She loved every minute of it. Helped open her eye to what she wants to do after high school. It has even help her think about dual enrollment and start college and career early. I was impressed in both programs, but AHEC program was by far the best. We would like to continue doing more programs.

Cameron Windham, MD

Shreveport, La

I firmly believe that participating in these programs helped prepare me for every step of my journey to become a physician. I am forever grateful for all that CLAHEC has done for me over the years. AHEC helped mold me in to the attending physician that I am today and I could not imagine how different my journey would have been to get to this stage in my career without AHEC by my side every step of the way.

Jennifer Deshautelle

Marksville, La

As a parent of a student who was blessed to be a participant in several AHEC programs, I am very thankful such programs are offered for our students. I have been a nurse for over 25 years. Needless to say, our rural communities need dedicated and dependable individuals within our healthcare system.
